1:1 Primary Tuition in Littleworth, Faringdon
Individual maths, phonics, early reading and early writing support for Reception to Year 4
I offer 1:1 primary tuition in Littleworth, Faringdon for children from Reception to Year 4 who need focused, individual support.
1:1 lessons can help when your child needs gaps identified, confidence rebuilt, or a gentler way back into learning. I support children with primary maths, phonics, early reading and early writing, always working at a pace that feels right for the child.
Individual Primary Tuition for Children Who Need Focused Support
Some children benefit from having space to work 1:1 before joining a group. Others simply need individual attention because their gaps, confidence or learning needs are very specific.
In 1:1 tuition, I can look closely at what your child understands, where the gaps are and what will help them move forward. Lessons are calm, nurturing and purposeful, with plenty of encouragement along the way.

What Happens in a Maths 1:1 Lesson?
I start by identifying what your child already understands and where they need further support, considering carefully how they are thinking about maths.
I use practical resources, visual representations and games to help children develop a secure understanding of mathematical ideas. There are lots of opportunities for children to practise key skills, solve problems and explain their reasoning. I want children to understand why rather than simply remember how.
Where appropriate, I explicitly teach children to develop a “can-do” attitude through animations, stories, discussions and by demonstrating it myself.
What Happens in a Reading/Writing 1:1 Lesson?
Lessons are shaped around your child's individual needs, whether they need help with phonics, reading fluency, comprehension, fine motor skills, handwriting or spelling. I start by identifying what they can already do and where they need further support.
I use games to make practice fun and engaging and, being familiar with many phonics schemes, can use the same approach as your child's school. For children who find writing difficult, I use art and craft-inspired activities to develop dexterity and pencil control.
Where appropriate, I explicitly teach children to develop a “can-do” attitude through animations, stories, discussions and by demonstrating it myself.
